While researching yesterday’s post, I realized that the architect who did the facade of the Drift building also was the architect for another building I know very well, located just a few streets over. Petrus Johannes Houtzagers built this in 1895. It stands at the corner of Nobelstraat and Lucasbolwerk, over by the Stadsschouwburg. Unfortunately, I don’t know much more about the building, but I’ve always enjoyed the little tower on the corner. The ground floor is the home to one of the many hair salons in town.
