Bikes and Buildings

Bikes and Buildings
This is a typical sight here in Utrecht. A view over a bridge (covered in bikes), looking along a canal (Nieuwegracht), with a variety of building styles. The Nieuwegracht is one of the canals fairly unique to Utrecht, in that it has a wharf area along the sides that sits below street level. You can catch a glimpse of it here:

  1. Lovely shots!
The canals in Utrecht have this unique characteristic (having a wharf) that make them special in the NL. As I said in my last blog post, there are beautiful canals with special characteristics all over the country, not just in Amsterdam! ;)

    • There really are beautiful canals all over the place. We drove through Abcoude one afternoon and saw some lovely canal views there, and I’ve seen numerous beautiful photos from you of canals in other locations.
