    • That’s right. I’d forgotten they were called terraced houses in the UK. Terrace, as a place to sit outside a café with a drink on a nice day, is the predominant meaning for me now. 😉

  2. These were originally cheap working class homes (still called “arbeidershuisjes”). Very popular now, even though they are incredibly small inside, even for Dutch stadards 🙂

    • There are a handful of different ones in my neighbourhood that I really like, so I’ve looked up their history. They look incredibly charming, but yes, so very small!
